Learner Support: Home

The purpose of the Learner Supports Service is to ensure that programmes and facilities are accessible to students with a disability or a specific learning difficulty. The Learner Supports Service aims to provide support for students with disabilities and to assist in their achievement of educational goals. Students with physical or learning difficulties, on-going illnesses, short term illness or injury should register with the Disabilities Service to ensure they receive the appropriate assistance during their studies.

Students should contact the Learner Supports Coordinator, Jane Buggle, to register with the Service or to discuss any issues relating to disabilities. Students can make an appointment by phone (01-4170667), email (learnersupports@dbs.ie), or face-to- face in the Library in Aungier Street.

Students with disabilities or specific learner difficulties may be entitled to avail of a range of supports including:

  • Spelling and grammar waiver
  • Extra time in exams
  • PMC room for exams
  • Academic support
  • Special arrangements for exams
  • Assisted access to facilities
  • Assistive technology
  • Counselling

Further details on disabilities support can be obtained from the Learner Supports Service at learnersupports@dbs.ie

Please note that students at Private Colleges are not entitled to apply to the Fund for Students with Disabilities which is administered by the Higher Education Authority to cover the cost of expensive accommodations, such as classroom assistants, sign language interpreters, assistive technologies, etc. Dublin Business School  will endeavour to meet the needs of students within these constraints.
