Information Literacy: Classes

These are classes that are provided as part of a timetabled module either Learning to Learn (Undergraduate) or Professional and Personal Development (Postgraduate). Students who take Information Skills classes via the Learning to Learn will be assessed with the mark feeding into the module mark. These sessions are arranged by module lecturer and the Information Skills Librarian.

These are classes that are provided as part of a timetabled module to any group of students in the college. The lecturer of the module can ask the Information Skills Librarian to either deliver from the pre-determined suite of classes:

  • Library Sources for Success (Introductory Class to Library Materials)
  • Cite Right for Success: Arts & Business (Referencing & Zotero Class)
  • Six Steps to Assignment Success (Assignment Planning Class)
  • Information Skill for Job Seekers
  • Preparing a Literature Review
  • Shibboleth for Advanced Research

or a mixture of  elements from the aforementioned classes.

These classes are arranged by the lecturer but can be made quite specific to the group by providing the Information Skills Librarian with an assignment brief. The Information Skills Librarian will do background research and demonstrate specific databases where students can find the most appropriate information for the assignment brief.
