How-to: Understand and Use Feedback

Reflective Questioning

The most important thing to do is to reflect on your assignment and the feedback, and then use it going forward to improve. You should be asking yourself questions before working on the assignment, throughout the assignment and after you've received feedback.

Questions to ask yourself

  • Did I understand the scope of the assignment?
  • Did I fully show my understanding of the concepts/topics I discussed?
  • Were my extra readings and research materials credible and relevant?
  • Did I do enough research?
  • Were my arguments well organized and understandable?
  • Is there anywhere I went off topic or began to ramble?
  • Did I use any past feedback to improve my work?
  • How have I improved since my last assignment?
  • How can I use this feedback to improve?
