Accessing DBS Library’s eBooks

The library currently has access to over 3,000 eBook titles across a number of platforms

Our eBook titles can be searched directly on the eBook platforms above but also via the Library Catalogue

New eBooks

DBS Library continues to acquire new eBook titles to allow greater access to eBooks to all our students. In the last year we added over 450 eBook titles to our eBook collection.

However, we are not always able to acquire every title as an eBook. Despite the huge growth in eBook publications, there are still many book titles that are not available as eBooks at all. Also, some titles, that are available for individuals to purchase directly, may not be available through an institutional licence. Another issue that can arise is where publishers delay access to eBook versions of newly published titles.

We continue to grow our eBook collection and to regularly check eBook availability of all reading list book titles.

Alternatives

  • Where titles are not available as eBooks consider searching for alternative titles on the same subject or by the same author to which the Library already has eBook access.
  • The library operates a Click+Collect service where you can request items through the catalogue and then collect them at the library

  • The library can provide you with one scanned chapter of a book that is marked for reference in the library catalogue
